Biography
Hello,
There is not really much to say here for a bio. This is how the story goes:
In 1998 I started a band with a few friends and we called it Blind Ambition. Blind Ambition is a heavier grunge-sounding band. Although it is very diverse in sound, it was hard to play a lot of the slower/acoustic songs that we had been writing. So we started doing acoustic coffee houses, that was fun, but after high school things changed I was left as the only original member in the band.
Blind Ambition has always been my main focus, but since 2000 I have been recording 1 CD a year of songs that I didn't get the chance to play with the band. Sometimes we would be able to play them and then we would lose a member and just not bother teaching that song to the new member and sometimes the songs just got put on the back burner for so long and all of the other new songs took priority.
It wasn't until a release in 2002 that I got the name "Defeated". I just wanted to put a title on the CD other than Blind Ambition, because Blind Ambition was a band, and this was just myself. I was feeling pretty defeated at the time so that’s the word I put on the cover. Since it was just me playing the instruments, whenever I played a set by myself somewhere, people started calling it "Defeated"...I didn't mind.
In 2003 I went with it and release a second Defeated CD entitled "ends/odds". The other kind of interesting thing is that I release the album on Christmas Eve every year.
So there you have it...maybe there was a bit to say...oh well, whatever, never mind.
