A lot of these songs Mark LaJoie has taken and recorded on his own, Mark Meeks helped out on a few tracks like "Half" and "Fade", as well, Laura LaJoie lent her voice on "Really Here". All the songs that were recorded were released as part of a solo project called "defeated". The reason for them turning is to b-sides in because we didn't have the money to record the songs when we were playing them live so when newer songs came along these songs were just dropped...Since 2000 I have been recording a CD a year worth of songs that didn't get released on Blind Ambition CD's. It wasn't until the release in 2002 that I got the name "Defeated". I just wanted to put a title on it other than Blind Ambition and I was feeling pretty defeated at the time so thats the word I put on the cover. Since it was just me playing the instruments, whenever I played a set by myself somewhere, people started calling it a "Defeated" set...I didn't mind, so last year I went with it and release "ends/odds". The other kind of interesting thing is, I release the album on christmas eve every year. So there you have it...
